TIME Magazine

I was fortunately enough to have the opportunity to illustrate a cover piece for this week's international version of TIME Magazine! The story for this piece is about China's One-Child Crisis: Why the world's most populous nation needs more people. Many thanks to Victor for the wonderful project and such a great experience in working with you! It is my dream come true! Thank you for reading!

Quanta Magazine

Here are some new pieces I have recently worked on for Quanta Magazine. The main theme for this assignment was about big data in science.

The article for the first piece is about Ecology - Imagining Data Without Division: As science dives into an ocean of data, the demands of large-scale interdisciplinary collaborations are growing increasingly acute.

The second piece is about Biology - Our Bodies, Our Data: New technologies have launched the life sciences into the age of big data. Biologists must now make sense of their windfall.

It was a great pleasure working with you Aaron! Thank you for reading!

The Wall Street Journal

Here is a quick spot for today's Wall Street Journal. The story is about children's private speech. Young children's habit of talking to imaginary friends can spur the development of an inner dialogue that they can use to talk themselves through challenging tasks now and later as adults. Many thanks to Pete for the fun project! Thank you for reading!

Litigation Magazine

Here is a cover illustration for the Summer 2013 issue of Litigation Magazine. The theme for this issue is "The Client." Some have had terrible experiences in the past, others have their lives torn apart by current legal proceedings. Their personal worlds can be turned inside out/upside down and they feel things are out of control. Others can help get them back, not only their lawyers but also professional counselors or therapists. Many thanks to Jill for the wonderful project to work on! Thank you for reading and more to come soon!

Young Men in Spats

Here is a book cover illustration for P. G. Wodehouse's "Young Men in Spats," published by W. W. Norton & Company.

About the book:
These eleven stories describe the misadventures of the delightfully idle "Eggs," "Beans," and "Crumpets" that populate the Drones club: young men wearing spats, starting spats, and landing in sticky spots. For the first of his many appearances in the Wodehouse canon, Uncle Fred comes to what he believes to be the rescue.  More in formation about the book here.

The book is available in store now and please check it out if you get a chance! Many thanks to Albert for the opportunity and it was a great pleasure working with you! Thank you for reading!

Health Solutions Magazine

Here is a spot illustration for the Spring 2013 issue of Health Solutions Magazine. The article was about the brain’s directional compass and how it might affect memory and dementia. I was asked to incorporate a compass in the piece and came up with this idea. I really enjoyed working on this piece and many thanks to Lara for letting me take part of this assignment! Thank you for reading!

I Have Done Some Good

Here is a personal piece I have recently completed. The idea is based on King Enma. In Japanese mythology, Enma is known as the god of hell who judges whether the souls of people go to heaven or hell. Adding a lot of details on this piece was quite a challenge for me. But this is something that I always enjoy/love to do and I was very happy when I finally completed this piece! Thank you for reading!

Variety Magazine

Here is a new piece for the latest issue of Variety Magazine. It was for a story about product placement on TV, and titled "Advertisers Embrace Gory Shows Like Walking Dead." I was told that Hyundai has particular stipulations that their cars cannot get zombie blood or get into a car accident in the show. It was very interesting to know, considering it's a zombie show! Even though it's a post apocalyptic hell scape, cars must be shiny/clean for promotion. Many thanks to Hannah for the opportunity and wonderful project to work on! Thank you for reading!

The New York Times

This piece is done for today's Sunday Business section of The New York Times. The timeline for this assignment was very short and I had to stay up for two days straight to complete this piece. But I was very happy and relieved that I was able to deliver the final on time! I have always dreamed of working for The New York Times and many thanks to Minh for my dream to come true! Thank you for reading!

The Washington Post

Here is a cover illustration for today's Local Living section of The Washington Post! The article is about confessions of a recovering diet food junkie: A woman struggles for years with different diets before discovering that the way she feels best is by cooking healthy foods for herself instead of depending on various premade services. I really enjoyed adding details on this piece and many thanks to Allie for the fun project! Thank you for reading!
